Creating a system for stable shipments

Our mission is to provide a stable supply of vegetables for a safe and secure diet in response to a variety of daily changing demands.
We want as many people as possible to eat our vegetables. With this in mind, we are constantly reviewing our vegetable production system and implementing various initiatives while incorporating new things.

Efficiency and labor saving by introducing machines.

Multiple planting machines are operated simultaneously in a single field. Tractors and wheel loaders are used to load the rows and fertilizer application at the same time.

Implementing a Field Management Cloud System

Cultivation status and work information from fields across the country as the scale of operations expands can be input directly into the management system from the field via tablet or smartphone for smooth and accurate management.
Implementing a Field Management Cloud System
  • Data on weather, temperature, and production records for each field are managed for use in forecasting annual production and business expansion.
  • By comparing the performance of each field and sharing cultivation progress, the accuracy of sales activities to suppliers and production planning is improved.
  • It has also led to a review of the introduction of fertilizers and equipment, which has reduced waste and led to increased productivity.

Participation in Smart Agriculture Demonstration Project by Agricultural Machinery Manufacturer

Section title Demonstration of an integrated labor-saving system for large-scale cabbage cultivation, from fertilization to harvest, incorporating advanced technology.
Implementation period 22020
Target Reduced fertilizer cultivation time by 50%.
Reduced total time required for cabbage harvesting and packing by 25%.
Management Summary 180 ha (cabbage 70 ha, lettuce 70 ha, leaf 25 ha, citrus 40 ha)
Demonstration area : 10ha of cabbage 35 employees (3 directors and 32 employees)
Introduction Technology (1) GPS vehicle speed-linked fertilizer spreader
(2) Automatic cabbage harvester with GPS
Actual results 〇 Significant reduction of 72% in labor hours for fertilizer application in fertilizer cultivation operations. Even without fertilizer application, a 43% reduction is possible. 41% reduction in labor hours for cabbage harvesting.
〇We held two hands-on training sessions using an automatic cabbage harvester for students at an agricultural high school, giving them the opportunity to experience both manual and mechanical harvesting, and thereby developing human resources through exposure to the latest technology.
Effectiveness of human resource development
○ Smart Agriculture classes were given to 33 students from an agricultural high school, and practical training was conducted twice at a production site using an automatic cabbage harvester and other equipment.
More than 70% of the students increased their interest in smart agriculture.
○Both manual and mechanical harvesting were experienced, and the differences and advantages and disadvantages were actually experienced by the participants.
Future Issues and Prospects ○ Aiming to produce uniform seedlings, which is essential to improve efficiency of harvester operations and further reduce labor hours.。
○ By encouraging neighboring farmers to use smart farm machines, the utilization rate of smart farm machines will be increased, leading to substantial cost reductions and widespread use of smart farm machines.

GLOBAL GAP

Complying with GAP standards and disclosing information as proof of safety and security.

What is Global GAP?

GAP stands for “Good Agricultural Practice,” and it is beginning to spread around the world as a standard that guarantees safety and security.
From the perspective of protecting the safety and security of food and people, GAP is gradually becoming more widespread at production sites.
GAP is a system that certifies that all production processes, including not only the quality of agricultural products but also the use of agricultural chemicals, the environment such as soil and water quality, and the safety of farm workers, are in compliance with certain standards after a third party examines them.

Our Approach

Ibusuki Yasai no Oukoku acquired Global GAP certification in 2020 (certification of “agricultural products with an international safety management evaluation” that is widespread in 124 countries, mainly in Europe).
In compliance with Global GAP certification, the establishment of appropriate internal controls, material management, and human resource development have improved the level of quality management and realized the production of uniform vegetables required for commercial use.
By adhering to strict international standards, we are now able to ship vegetables at the high level required for export.

GAP's Four Themes for Proper Agricultural Management

  • Crop Safety
  • Environmental considerations
  • Producer safety and welfare
  • Farm Management and Marketing Management

Benefits to Farm Producers

  • Standardized farm management
  • Reliable farms
  • Stabilization of transactions

Examples of GAP initiatives

1.Documentation of operations

Clarification of hazardous areas in farm work
Passing on skills
作業の効率化

2.Organizing

Inventory reduction
Improvement of work efficiency

Production of vegetables to meet summer demand in Hokkaido

Leased farmland in 15 towns in Tadarui, Makubetsu-cho, Nakagawa-gun, Hokkaido, and established a production system for lettuce, cabbage, and broccoli.
Production is carried out during the period from May to October.
(Shipment is made from August to October, which is the off-season for agriculture in Kagoshima)
. By responding to the demand for leafy vegetables in the summer season through cooperation among production areas, it has become possible to supply vegetables throughout the year.

We value communication with our customers, peers, and the community.

We value communication with our customers and surrounding farmers.
We actively accept field tours and training sessions, and whenever possible, we allow our customers to actually see our facilities and fields so that they can learn
about the scale of our fields, growing environment, cultivation methods, and other aspects of the environment involved in vegetable production.
We usually inform our customers of the growth status of vegetables and report on the growth status of vegetables to be delivered so that we can respond flexibly to adjustments in delivery quantities in the event of a good crop or a bad crop.
By doing so, we believe that we are able to build a relationship of trust with our customers based on our attitude as a producer and our third value other than vegetable quality, such as GAP certification, and receive recognition from many of our customers.
